Walk of Witness
Good Friday was a fine day weather-wise, not very warm, but that is not a bad thing when you’re about to walk quite a distance. Many people, mainly from the four Olton churches gathered on Dovehouse Parade outside Wedges. The sound system worked well so we could all hear the introduction despite being close to Warwick Road. There were prayers, readings and hymns at all the stops between Wedges on Dovehouse Parade and Tesco’s in Olton Hollow. Some less mobile members of the congregations were only able to manage part of the walk, but all reflected on the significance of Good Friday whilst walking. At the end, at St Margaret’s Church Hall, the walkers were supplied with tea or coffee and an Hot Cross Bun by ladies from St Margaret’s.
